Waffle Live is our brand new live music programme, which features weekly Friday night performances from a variety of acts on the Waffle stage, interwoven with other events such as The Vinyl Solution, quizzes and DJ nights on Thursdays and Saturdays.

SARAH RANDLE

FRI 06 MAY 19:30

Sarah is a brilliant local jazz singer with a glistening CV. Trained at Liverpool performing arts (LiPA), she was introduced to Sir Paul McCartney and asked to perform at his late wife’s memorial. In 2003, she released ‘Sparrow’, an album co-written and produced by Chris Rea. Sarah will be going solo to Waffle and performing a selection of originals and covers.

It’s the 2nd Friday of the month! Come along for 19:30 if you’d like to perform. Any age, instrument, size of band, standard, style of music is more than welcome. If you’re just here for the Waffles, make sure you book a table and strap in for an unexpected journey – we never know what’s going to happen!

SUNSET CAFE STOMPERS

The Sunset Cafe was a top prohibition era night-spot on Chicago’s infamous South Side. Al Capone owned it, Louis Armstrong starred there. The Sunset Cafe Stompers play the music of that period… great tunes from Scott Joplin, Irving Berlin, Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller… but the band’s wide repertoire also features songs made famous by artists as diverse as Patsy Cline, Marilyn Monroe, the Inkspots, Fats Domino… even Elvis. This seven piece outfit is widely recognised as one of the finest New Orleans style jazz bands in England today.

TASH N DAVE

Tash and Dave love to perform acoustic music, any style of music so long as it is acoustic. Some of their personal favourites are James Taylor, The Beatles and Alison Krauss. They also enjoy including one or two of their own songs in the sets, some of which (“This Letter”, “City Rush Hour” and “Drive By Shooting”) have won awards in the Nashville International Song and Lyric Contest.

LEONIE PRATER

Leonie is an indie – folk artist who performs both Solo and with her full band. Since she was a teenager Leonie has been writing her own songs and has released her debut album Metamorphosis last year in March. She has currently teamed up with a band and has been busy writing new tunes.

Inspired pop, rock, funk and soul classics from acclaimed South West musicians. When Waffle’s Tim saw Fluke at West Bay last year he came back proclaiming he had just seen the best covers band in the world, and we had to book them… They’re only a 4-piece, but can pack a punch. Be prepared to boogie…
